Which investment categories excite you most and why?

I’m most excited by categories where working processes are still very old-school and inefficient. For example, the construction and supply chain categories excite me, as they have both historically been underserved by technology and displayed inertia whilst other industries raced ahead with tech solutions. However, we’ve now had some great breakout companies in each category, which have demonstrated the value tech can provide and have reduced the barriers to adoption. Therefore, I’m excited to see what entrepreneurs can build in these categories over the coming years.

What strengths do you bring to the companies you partner with?

I previously co-founded a venture-backed startup and experienced lots of the challenges that early stage companies go through. I hope I can use these experiences to help founders avoid lots of painful mistakes that I made! I was also lucky enough to work at ComplyAdvantage, where I saw what great looks like when it comes to scaling a business. Hopefully the lessons I learnt during that period will be helpful to founders who choose to partner with MMV.

It’s a Saturday afternoon, where can we find you and what are you up to?

I’m a massive football fan, so my Saturday afternoons are either spent watching Arsenal play (and hopefully win!) or playing 5 a side football with friends.

Podcast or publication?

I’m always listening to podcasts, and my favourite is Invest Like the Best with Patrick O'Shaughnessy. Each episode is great as they dive into loads of detail about a business, market or investment strategy and have awesome guests.
