Head of Operations

Kim O’Neil

"I know how critical it is to have the right people in place to set strategic objectives and lead organizations through seismic, industry-level changes."

Why did you join the MMV team?

Having worked in the insurance industry for my entire career, I am very aware of how critical disruption is to challenge and grow a centuries-old industry. When this role became available, I knew that having a seat at the MMV table was the best and most exciting opportunity to witness our portfolio companies do just that. I was excited to bring my skills and expertise in finance and operations to a new team that will expose me to a new industry and have me learning everyday.

Which tech trend are you most excited by and why?

Insurtech. I have firsthand experience navigating the often archaic inner-workings of the insurance world, and I know how important technology is to the future of the industry (and just how costly not having the right technology will be). At the same time, I know how critical it is to have the right people in place to set strategic objectives and lead organizations through seismic, industry-level changes.

In another life, if you weren’t in venture capital, what would you be?

I would own a bakery. I really enjoy baking and getting creative with recipes. I see every day how exhausting owning your own business can be, but I also see how incredibly rewarding the experience is.

Fun Fact about yourself?

I love a unique adventure while traveling, whether it be ATVing along the Nile in Uganda or going for a dip in the hot springs of the Azores. I go all in for the experience particularly when it comes to the food and wine.
