Executive Liaison

Christine McGilvray

"My parents were entrepreneurs, so as a child I saw the aspects of running a business firsthand."

Podcast or publication?

Publication: the WSJ because they cover hot business topics and go super in depth to explain all angles.

What professional or personal event in your life helped shape the way you think about entrepreneurship?

My parents were entrepreneurs - they built, owned, and managed apartment buildings throughout most of my adolescent life. As children, we helped prep each vacant unit for the next tenant. There’s so much that goes into the behind the scenes of keeping the buildings and business going – it’s not just collecting rent checks. I’m fortunate to have observed and participated in it firsthand.

Fun fact about yourself?

I have ran – and completed - four Boston Marathons! Twice to raise money for The Ally Foundation, once to raise money for Dana Farber, and once as a bandit (shhhhh – don’t tell!).

It’s a Saturday afternoon, where can we find you and what are you up to?

If it’s spring, summer, or fall you’ll likely find me on the water! Most early mornings I like meeting up with friends at one of my three favorite coffee spots: Mookie’s, Blue Canoe or Java Sun.
